Datalink's TooClose wristband samples the wrist temperature every five minutes, and the app uses an algorithm to compensate for normal variations and external influences resulting in accurate fever alerting.
All reports are sent over WiFi to a cloud host where alerts are automatically emailed to one or more administrators.
Records are also stored in a database allowing for quick contact tracing if someone should become infected with COVID-19.
The user can also manually report any symptoms by simply touching the “sick” button for four seconds and adding more details in a free form text message.
